Performance-Based Design Brief

The Performance-Based Design Brief (PBDB) is a foundational document developed at the outset of a performance solution. It outlines the scope, objectives, acceptance criteria, and agreed methodologies for demonstrating compliance with the performance requirements of the National Construction Code (NCC).

Key Components

• Project Scope & Objectives: Defines the building, systems, and performance outcomes to be achieved.
• Stakeholder Agreement: Documents input and alignment between key stakeholders, including designers, fire engineers, and approval authorities.
• Performance Criteria: Establishes the specific NCC performance requirements and acceptance criteria.
