A Fire Indicator Panel (FIP) is the central control and monitoring point for a building’s fire detection and alarm system. It receives signals from fire detection devices throughout the building, identifies the location of alarms or faults, and can activate connected fire safety systems to support occupant evacuation and emergency response.

Key Components

• Fire Detection Monitoring: Receives and displays signals from smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points, and other fire detection devices.
• Alarm Identification: Indicates the location or zone where a fire alarm, system fault, or other event has been detected.
• System Integration: Can interface with other fire safety systems such as occupant warning systems, sprinklers, smoke control, and Emergency Warning and Intercommunication Systems (EWIS).
• Emergency Response: Provides firefighters and building personnel with important information about the status and location of fire events within the building.

A FIP is a critical component of a building’s fire safety infrastructure, providing centralised monitoring and control to support early fire detection, effective evacuation, and rapid emergency response.
