Final Fire Safety Report

The Final Fire Safety Report (FFSR) is a comprehensive document prepared at the completion of construction or significant building works. It verifies that the Commissioner of FRNSW is satisfied that the building work complies with a performance solution for a fire safety requirement that was the subject of the construction certificate, the fire hydrants in the fire hydrant system will be accessible for use by FRNSW, and the couplings in the fire hydrant system will be compatible with the fire appliances and equipment used by Fire and Rescue NSW

Key Components

  • As-Built Verification: Confirmation that fire safety systems are installed in line with approved plans and specifications.
  • System Testing & Commissioning: Evidence that all fire protection systems (e.g. alarms, sprinklers, hydrants) have been tested and are fully operational.
  • Compliance Certification: Validation that the building meets NCC performance requirements and regulatory obligations.
  • Documentation & Records: Compilation of certificates, test reports, and commissioning data for authority approvals and future reference.

A Final Fire Safety Report is essential for obtaining occupancy certification and provides assurance that a building’s fire safety systems are compliant, functional, and ready for use.
